SUMMER BREEZE
1 minute, 25 seconds (2007)
Collaboration with Donna Conlon
Concieved as a counterpart to Dry Season, Summer Breeze is also a meditation on climate, consumption-driven accumulation, and the ironic beauty of our refuse-filled landscapes.
A fence, rattling in the unseen wind, becomes a canvas for a color field painting of chip bags, paper cups, and ribbons. The percussive nature of ordinary stuff playfully creates aleatory soundscapes, reminiscent of the random rhythmic patterns generated by falling rain and gusts of wind.
Dry Season and Summer Breeze were first shown together in June of 2007, during Weather Proof, a video exhibition held at Samson Projects, Boston, U.S.A.
