This piece is the first of a series of invented games recorded on video that we will eventually present as a multi-channel installation. Each (video) game will rely on its own logic – partially derived from the codes and rules of conventional games – to comment on problematic issues of contemporary Panamanian society. We will use found objects, chosen for their symbolic value, as chips, markers and game boards. There will be differences in terms of the rhythm and duration of each video, but the notion of a game as a dialogue/anti-dialogue held between (us) the players will be common to all of them. Taking into account the lessons learned during past collaborations, we will develop the sound in parallel with the visual elements of the (video) games. We intend each (video) game to function independently, yet their interaction with the others in a common space will create a synergetic effect, and hopefully generate a profound, poetic analysis of our society and its conflicts. At the moment, we have completed three (video) games. We aim to produce between two and five more.
