HINGES
Series of 30 photographs; 40.6 cm x 25.4 cm each (2003)
Collaboration with Dominique Ratton and Alberto Gualde
The hinges were commisioned by the ArtePanamá Foundation to serve as separators (hence their name) between sections of the catalogue for Multiple City, a massive public art event which took place in the city of Panama during the initial months of 2003. Inspired by the short and ironic texts written by Alberto Gualde about some of the more striking and idiosyncratic aspects of the city, and photographed by Dominique Ratton, the series of images transcended its original function and became a work of art within its own right.
